love my football carl usually goes out visiting not keen on football. me i love it and i love my club LIVERPOOL FC today is big its a must win game i thin. anyway hears who should shine today
I'm with Carl on this one Dru - the two best things Liverpool gave the world is The Beatles and the Aintree Grand National. Your football is called soccer here in Australia and dose not have the following that it dose in UK and Europe.Here in Australia more so the Southern states like Victoria , SA, WA and Tasmania the big football is Aussie Rules [kinda like Gallic football] is what most people are into - it is like a religion for the diehard fans kinda like it is for you guys over there. I was amazed many years ago I was sitting at a railway station in Germany waiting for a train when the world cup was playing - the station was almost deserted and all I could hear was the sounds of the cup being played wafting from houses. Think just about every one was sitting infront of the TV watching the game. Regards Stef
southern this is very much a family thing my dad his dad,his dad exc going way back . dad even sead a player called Albert Stubins 19 60s is a cousin of ours .so its in the blood sort off . as for the two best things Liverpool had Beatles i will give you but footbal before horse racing always tho my dad and granddad went to Aintree in the 70s won a fair bit on Red Rum another ledgend . Dru I can see where the passion comes from and that is great. My own personal passion lies with horse racing - wierd that you mentioned Red Rum - the first year he won the grand national he beat a great Australian jumper called Crisp [who from memory carried a couple of stones [14kg] more than Red Rum, what many of us did not realize at that time was what a truly great horse Red Rum was - he won the grand national 3 years in a row and became a legend, think they even erected a statue of him at Aintree.Suppose your dad and grandad told you all about him - just thought I'd mention the Aussie horse he beat.
